Section 8 Housing
Section 8 Housing is subsidized housing, meaning that after you have filled out an application, risen to the top of the waiting list, attended a briefing and been issued a voucher, you can locate housing within the city limits of Springfield with a landlord who is willing to work with our program.
The housing must pass inspection before approved. After all steps are completed, you pay a portion of the rent directly to your landlord, and H.A.S. Properties pays a portion of your rent directly to your landlord.
Your gross income must fall within the very low income guidelines (see chart) to qualify.
